Thanks for stopping by Kate! I’m glad they made you come out because you did a terrific job along with the rest of the panelists. I wish that you’d all had more time to continue because I think there were many interesting avenues left to explore.

I regret putting the wrong words into your mouth and I’ve added a correction to the original post.

Unfortunately there’s no way for me to undo my snarky-for-the-sake-of-snarkiness police line-up crack so I’ll just spend the rest of today feeling like a jerk as punishment. Deservedly so.

To be fair, I think I meant putting up a post and then being able to expand on it later, with more info or news as it breaks, rather than corrections–not that that doesn’t happen as well, and even at newspaper online sites.

Whenever I’m in a police line-up, I never get picked.

But I was there by far the earliest, and sat in a cabana with the Film Ind. people, having a cocktail. Unfortunately, they made me come out.

The festival wraps up Sunday with Sunshine, but it will probably wrap up for me tomorrow. I had a screening scheduled Saturday evening, but a friend is coming to town so I’ll probably cut it short. I’ve got some catching up to do blog-wise. Between work and movies I haven’t had the energy to write as much. I suppose I’m getting to the point where I need to join the rest of the world and get a laptop.

Anyway, don’t feel bad about Die Hard. I’m awfully tempted myself even though there are so many ways it can all go wrong and piss me off. As for Transformers, robots wrecking crap is still very appealing to me and it’s mostly the vaguest of principles (Bay is a douche, I don’t pay money to see toy ads) that will keep me from buying a ticket. I’m not saying I won’t sneak in after a showing of something else…

I’m really digging these posts, great work. I can’t decide whether I’m going to skip Transformers or not. Big robots beating each other up pointlessly has a draw that I wish I could deny. but I might not be able too.

And I think I’m seeing DIE HARD 4 tonight, I know, I know, all cred I may or may not have had is out the window.

I’m pointedly skipping Transformers. I can’t let go of the idea it’s a toy ad and has no business at a film festival that wants to be taken seriously. Though admittedly if I was connected and got an invite I probably would’ve jumped at the chance. I guess that makes me not just a whore, but kind of a wannabe whore. How sad.

Anyway, instead I’m heading over to The Landmark tonight to see What We Do is Secret and The Beautiful Ordinary.
