The Canadian film industry awarded its own this evening in Toronto, bestowing Canada’s top film prize, the Genie, seven times each on Sarah Polley’s Away From Her and David Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises.

I bought a ticket for No Country for Old Men this weekend to register my vote for quality, then snuck in to three other movies I didn’t necessarily want to pay for.
The first one was Semi-Pro, Will Ferrell’s mostly unfunny exercise in silliness reviewed below. Save yourself the trouble and just watch the red band trailer.
