By Craig Kennedy - March 23rd, 2008; 11:41 pm
Craig Brewer, the writer/director of Hustle & Flow and Black Snake Moan, is set to direct Gang Leader for a Day from a book by Sudhir Venkatesh. The script is to be written by Sopranos screenwriter Michael Caleo and the whole thing will be hand delivered to the big screen by Paramount Vantage.
Published in January 2008, the book tells of the author’s studies among a gang of crack dealers as a first-year doctoral student at the University of Chicago

I saw this thread sitting by itself, totally ignored by all the cool commenters, and feeling awkward and humiliated. So I had to come across and give it a little attention.
Haven’t seen Hustle and Flow, thought there was plenty to admire in Moan even though it didn’t quite work for me.
lol…The post appreciates your attention Sartre.
I’m less a Craig Brewer fan than some others, but I’m interested to see what he does next.
Well, I liked Black Snake Moan. It was one of my favorite films from 2007. There. I said it.
That film is chained to your radiator, Alison :-)
I remember when you confessed to that Alison. It bumped you up a notch or two on my awesomeness scale.
