Variety reports that Ridley Scott will direct and produce The Kind One starring Casey Affleck as an amnesiac in 1930s Los Angeles who ends up working for a mobster. It’s based on a novel by Tom Epperson who will also write the screenplay.

According to Variety, Phoenix Pictures and the Gold Co. are joining forces to bring you Amish Gone Wild, a comedy about two Amish teens who go to Las Vegas as part of the Amish “rumspringa” ritual where teens experience the outside world before deciding whether to adhere to the strict Amish way of life.

Repeating information gleaned from Pedro Almodóvar’s blog and elsewhere, The Guardian reports that filming begins next month on Almodóvar’s latest collaboration with supernaturally beautiful Penélope Cruz called Los Abrazos Rotos (Broken Embraces).
Planning to shoot in the “style of 50s film noir,” the director calls it “the longest script I’ve ever written.”
