Do you care who was nominated for the MTV Movie Awards? Me either.

Every time people suggest that the Oscars go more “populist” than they already are, all I can think of is this. We already have this, and if you want a populist awards show, watch it. I’ll be doing my laundry.
alexander, could you do mine too ???? ;)
is this mtv award deal gonna be worse han 30 otherr tv awards things ??? doubt it…
and i don’t think mtv is pandering.what they’re listing seems pretty natural for the network/not alot different than whatever it is they alwys do.
this may seem to o’upscale’ for the lcd
Maybe if you click on my name, glimmer. ;)
No promises, though.
Apparently there’s a category for “Best Summer Movie So Far.” I think that about tells me everything I need to know about this sham. That and the “Best Movie” nomination for “Transformers.”
I look forward to the parade of shilling stars.
And to find out who wins the category of “Best Summer Tentpole Film That Includes Cars Racing and Jumping with Monkey.”
I can never decide which is lamer, these or the People’s Choice. I think People’s Choice wins, but that golden box of popcorn MTV awards really says it all.
And Dorothy’s right. Best Summer Movie So Far–man would I be proud to win that. It’s just a blatant attempt to keep the awards seeming as anachronistic as they really are, inserting some current movies into the tired old batch from last summer.
alexander…word press is nightmare for me..as usual i have no idea how i got to work at a.d. since word press partly feels i don’t have an account under the glimmer name.
i love tthat a person with a word press thing doesn’t have an account with us message.
yet i can sign into my account at the wordpress page. yet i can’t leave a message on your page.whatever..
glimmer, when you first registered at AD, I had to “approve” your first comment after registering, but after that, you were recognized as a “friendly”
You registered twice while we worked out that glitch, so I also fixed it so that both your active registrations will display your “glimmer” nick.
(I’ll email you with your alternate registration info if you’ve forgotten… but I think the issue will resolve itself as soon as you pass inspection at Alexander’s new hotspot.)
If the awards aren’t associated with a guinea pig, I want nothing to do with them.
Hey, remember when MTV was relevant to…anything?
I’m with you, Paul. The ones associated with the guinea pig are by far the best. :-)
I can never decide which is lamer, these or the People’s Choice. I think People’s Choice wins, but that golden box of popcorn MTV awards really says it all.
LOL. Exactly, jennybee.
*as always thank you/ryan sir !!* :)
and joel, mtv is still relevant..they have… the hills…. ;)
I wonder how many drivers, pool-boys, one night stands and other assorted entourage have been handed those Golden Popcorn monstrosities as tokens of whatever, and how many reside on the top shelves in the walk-in closets of efficiency apartments off Santa Monica Blvd. Like Robert Downey Jr in Iron Man, handing off the “Apogee” award to the costumed emperor outside the ballroom. (”Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s. Here ya go.”)
Can’t imagine anyone have one of those things sitting out on display. Except maybe Ben Stiller.
That scene in Iron Man was great.
