Baumbach and Ruffalo and Adams…Oh My

In an effort to keep me from making it out the door to go to the movies, Sartre brought this item to my attention.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men) is producing Noah Baumbach’s next film Greenburg, a “relationship comedy-drama” starring LiC favorites Mark Ruffalo and Amy Adams. Little else is known about the project and they’re still looking for buyers at Cannes, but Rudin hopes to begin filming this year.

Baumbach is in LiC movie jail after Margot at the Wedding, though I’m prepared to revisit it and see if my mind has been changed since a number of people I respect liked it (Hedwig and Jeffmcm spring to mind if memory serves…and it so rarely does). Nevertheless, I still have enough good will left over from The Squid and the Whale to be enthusiastic about this one, particularly with Ruffalo and Adams on board.

  1. I still have not seen “Margot” but I loved “Squid.”

  2. Oh, but I too really like Adams and Ruffalo.

I think the films sounds promising - so far anyway.

  3. I really liked “Margot at the Wedding” too. Not as good as “The Squid and the Whale,” but still very good. Baumbach is one of my new “must see” directors, and I love Amy Adams, so I’m looking forward to this.

  4. Ditto

  5. Yes, I liked Squid but I thought Margot was fantastic, like a Bergman movie but funny.
