Yeah, but why the song from Batman and Robin?
The crack investigative journalists at MTV asked Zack Snyder why he chose the Smashing Pumpkins’ The Beginning is the End is the Beginning (a slowed down version of The End is the Beginning is the End featured in that Schumacher Batman and Robin monstrosity) for the Watchmen trailer:
“For one, I felt like in mood, it was correct for what we were trying to do. We were trying to sort of get at the unwashed masses who don’t know anything about Watchmen [Ed. as opposed to the unwashed masses who live and breathe Watchmen] and find something provocative that makes you go, ‘What is that?’ … And then, also, I felt like the song itself spoke a little to the Watchmen world.”
LiC translation: “Um…I thought the song sounded cool?”
Clearly Mr. Snyder had already been reading some of the internet hubbub from yesterday because he added, “And then on the third hand … it will create controversy a little bit in the fanbase because they’re going to be like, ‘Wait, is that going to be in the movie? That ain’t 1985!’ ”
Seriously? That dude has three hands? wow.

I’m betting it helped his choice a LOT that Warner Bros already owned the rights to the song, considering the Batman and Robin soundtrack was released by Warner Brothers Music.
Of course I’m not cynical about it at all.
Mmm… makes me pine for The Smashing Pumpkins cover of My Heart Will Go On. Or maybe just to hear Celine singing it strung out on GHB.
See? I always knew he was deep.
What I didn’t know was that he’s a sideshow freak who can masturbate, pick his nose and rub his tummy all at once.
if movies can have reboots. why not songs too… ;)
kudos to the makers Dark Knight for their record breaking opening weekend… it’s no wonder there’s talk of another one coming out ASAP
