Verhoeven Attached to Another Project
Screen Daily’s Mike Goodridge reports that Dutch director Paul Verhoeven (Black Book, RoboCop) is attached to direct a film based on the acclaimed World War II memoir The Forgotten Soldier by Frenchman Guy Sajer.
As a teenager, Sajer was recruited into the German army and sent to the eastern front.
The controversial Verhoeven is already attached to The Thomas Crown Affair 2, the Jan De Bont produced The Paperboy based on Pete Dexter’s novel, a crime story set in Tsarist Russia starring Mila Jovovich called The Winter Queen, and an adaptation of Kneeling On a Bed of Violets a novel by fellow Dutchman Jan Siebelink.
The busy filmmaker will soon be seen directing traffic in the streets of Amsterdam.
