Sony is Ducky with ‘Synecdoche’

In brighter indie news, the report we previously passed along that Sony Pictures Classics was close to picking up Charlie Kaufman’s CannesĀ picĀ Synecdoche, New York was confirmed by the company today and a release is currently planned for October.

I can’t wait for the real movie season to start. How about you?

  1. Yeah, now that The Dark Knight is out, summer can (and seemingly surely will) go downhill, so at this point if you’re anticipating anything, it should be the start of the fall season. Well, Woody Allen’s got a film in August, and there are some films out there like Tell No One and Man on Wire that I want to see now, but at this point I’m looking forward to the fall releases the most, starting most especially with Burn After Reading.

And this one, I’m glad to hear things are shaping up nicely for it and its release in October.

  2. Another month and it will be time for the 2nd annual LiC Fall Forecast. Yeah!!!

  3. Can’t wait, Craig.

  4. I didn’t mean the forecast itself was especially exciting, but the season most certainly is.
