So, Howard Stern wants to remake the cult classic Rock ‘n’ Roll High School. The original channeled some of the anarchic energy of punk rock into a goofy teen rebellion picture. Tell me: what popular music of today has any danger in it whatsoever? Are you going to incite revolution with The Ting Tings? I don’t think so.

He also wants to remake Porky’s, which is fine because I always hated that movie.

  1. Howard likely has money to burn. I can’t see how Rock n Roll HS would work with modern music, but I can easily see them remaking Porkys. If he goes for R ratings on both, I’d at least applaud that.

  2. I’m actually tired of complaining about remakes, but this one seemed especially pointless for the reasons we just mentioned.

Porky’s…yeah I don’t know. Even with an R rating, the American Pie people blew it if you ask me (and no one does because they don’t really care).

  3. craig…but you should always blow a hot apple pie… ;)

‘Tell me: what popular music of today has any danger in it whatsoever?’

hmm and why do i think the already beyond loved american teen

won’t deal with this question even 3 %. and no one will think it’s weird that it doesn’t either ????

    go pixar nation…..

people don’t want danger they want to be sedated (you knew i’d sneak that in..)

    ‘the music was crap…expect one.’

and joel you should only applaud if they go nc-17.

if we’re gonna applaud a remake for having the same mpaa ratring as the original ir further and further shows how lame everything is/now. so lame…

‘they say don’t against the grain/don’t add fuel to the flame/
stay in between the white line /and learn to read the right sign…’

  6. Beautiful headline, Craig.

I suspect that Howard is just looking for an excuse to play Joey Ramone.
