Sigh, I too have spent too much cash on trinkets and too much vacation time on…vacating the office this summer. No NYFF trip for me, which means all you NY LIC’ers (and hopefully Craig) need to attend so the rest of us can live vicariously through you.

Should be awesome. I look forward to reviews and in-depth commentary I can’t read for films on my blackout list (ha, how ironic is that?).

Two more items that I’m sure all the denizens of LIC would love to see are the opening night feature, the French Palme d’Or, THE CLASS as well as Arnaud Despletchin’s A CHRISTMAS TALE. Despletchin’s previous film, KINGS AND QUEEN was one of my favorites of the year it was released.

This is getting more and more exciting the more it is all pondered. The Eastwood, THE CHANGELING is another priority.

Alison’s a New Yorker, maybe she has some plans too.

Craig I am almost certain it’s a movie by movie situation.

Anyone who decides to head over will get a red carpet treatment from me, that much is certain!

Despite the fact that I have been seeing many films year in and year out for about 30 years, I must confess I have yet to attend a single film at the NYFF. I can’t explain it, it just never happened.

However, this year I plan on attending some of these, but I must act soon. Aronofsky, Soderberg, Kar-Wei and the restored Ophuls! Wow! Heavenly stuff.
Craig I hope you can do something, we are waiting for you.

GOOD GOD! I want to take a leave of absence from work and attend the NYFF. That’s an impressive line-up.

Plus, you know, New York in Sept is kinda amazing too.
