‘Valkyrie’ Returns From the Dead?

Back in April when the Bryan Singer/Tom Cruise Hitler assassination project Valkyrie was moved for the third time to a February ‘09 slot, people who pay attention to such minutia were prepared to declare the movie DOA.

Well, MGM announced the film has moved been moved again; this time up to the more favorable date of December 26, 2008.

That returns the film to the Oscar eligibility window, but according to Variety, “sources close to events said the move was made for purely commercial reasons, after a screening of the film went well.”

Bloggers in some corners still smell trouble because that’s what bloggers do.

  1. Glad the release date was moved up. I’ve been waiting too long for this one and am eager to see it. Screw the haters! Any film that reunites Bryan Singer and Chris McQuarrie and attracts the likes of Kenneth Branagh, Terrence Stamp, Bill Nighy, and yes even Tom can’t be that bad.

  2. Yeah I’m tired of all the doubt and hate this movie has drawn sight unseen. Let the movie speak for itself and sooner rather than later.
