One World, One Movie
Apparently, US studios have run out of Asian films to rip off because now they’re reversing the trend. Warner China Film HG, an unholy union between Warner Bros, China Film Group and Hengdian group is remaking the Kim Basinger film Cellular for a Chinese audience.
I look forward to the day when I can report that a US studio is remaking the Chinese remake (to be called Connection) and that the remake of a remake is in turn being made into a Broadway show that someone will inevitably make into another movie.
It’s a global market my friends and we’re getting into the business of exporting and recycling garbage. I am filled with national pride.

Don’t forget the obligatory BBC TV series “Cellular,” which can then be imported to the US as a remake on NBC that will be identical to the original but minus the accents and all the Brit slang.
Look at this way…we’re not the only ones that have given up on original ideas.
Oh my God, Craig. I saw ‘One World’ and for a minute I thought you were referring to that Disney Cheetah Girls movie.
This is almost as bad.

And they’ll get Marty to direct it and he’ll win another Oscar …
Ah, this post has taken me to my happy place, Craig. :)
Haha, nice. Is Kim Basinger going to be cast in this one, too? It would be one of her only projects since the original…zing!
Seriously, though, what happened to the Oscar winner? I guess her next project sounds somewhat interesting, but still…
Haha, Rick, good one.
It’s about time the Asians started ripping off our movies rather than the other way around.
