‘Zack and Miri’ Red Band Trailer

Rotten Tomatoes has a new foul mouthed red band trailer for Kevin Smith’s Zack and Miri Make a Porno starring Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks. It didn’t turn me on. Judge for yourself.

  1. Agreed. Aside from the Rosie O’Donnel line, nothing got a laugh out of me.

  2. Comedy trailers can be hard to judge. One hopes that they save the best stuff for the movie, but that doesn’t give you much to go on.

The biggest worry is that what you see is what you get.

  3. I tend to enjoy Kevin Smith’s films so I’ll definitely be there.

  4. I’m on the fence. I’m getting weary of all this who-can-outcrude-the-last-one comedy, but Kevin Smith almost always makes me laugh. The trailer doesn’t send me pitching a tent in front of the nearest theater to wait for tickets.

  5. I find all trailers hard to judge. They’re designed, after all, to get you into the theaters, not necessarily to give an accurate representation of the film.

This one seems funny enough, but the danger in a comedy is just what Craig says: they put all the good jokes into the trailer. And given Kevin Smith’s recent output, I’m not encouraged.

  6. I am not taken with the trailer, but I am looking forward to the film

  7. I’ve never really dug Kevin Smith’s films. Just not my thing. And I’m getting severe Rogen burnout, which is second only to severe Apatow burnout. That said, the part where he drops the milk crate was pretty funny, but I will likely sit this one out.

  8. Yeah, what Rick said about traliers. But also what JB said. Frankly, the F-bomb has lost some of its magic…unless it’s the Coen brothers.

Nevertheless, I still like Rogen (not quite to Evan’s level of burnout just yet) and I like Banks so we’ll see.

  9. Yeah Evan, but who delivers open containers of milk in a crate? Kinda funny I guess.

I’m glad to see Banks back doing comedy, little disappointed to see Kevin Smith has once again gone to the Star Wars well for gags. He’s beaten that horse to a bloody pulp. Maybe he can throw in Lord of Rings and Transformers gags for the trifecta.

    (kinda over Kevin Smith, sorry).
