007 Ditches Martini for Jack and Coke

No, LiC hasn’t sold out to the Coca Cola company, but this new Coke Zero/Quantum of Solace tie-in spot is done up (not very well) in the spirit of a James Bond opening credit sequence and, more importantly, it features a taste of Jack White’s theme song.

  1. If it does, I think I am really going to dig it.

  2. Yeah he captures the right flavor, but it’s got his style. It’s not generic.

  3. I love Coke (but NOT Coke Zero) and of course I adore Mr. Bond.

    But this is just…STUPID.

Craig, I hate to bring this up. But I may as well while I’m here. I don’t mean to sound like a spoiled little princess. But if the Jimmy Choo fits, well…

Am the ONLY one that either can’t get these trailers to work AT ALL or finds that they…um…STOP and START ALL THE TIME??? I have a quality high speed net connection, so WTF is it?

Also, how come my JULIE CHRISTIE avatar appears at practically everyone else’s Wordpress based site EXCEPT yours?

This is nothing against you or my beloved LiC. I’m firmly in your corner, my wondrous Mr. Crabcake. FOR ALWAYS.

I’m just wondering if you know…and if you don’t, that’s perfectly dandy by moi….

  4. Uh..uh…uh…

  5. Hi Miranda. I don’t know about the trailer addict clips or why they’re not working. I know they’re not just US based ’cause Nick can see them.

The reason your Avatar doesn’t show up is ’cause I’m off the Wordpress grid. I use their software on my own server. There’s a link in the right sidebar for Gravatars which I use. You can upload your picture there. Just make sure to use the same email address you sign in to LiC with.

  6. Thanks, my darling crustacean.

When I said the trailers don’t work I meant they don’t work PROPERLY. Apple keeps kicking me out so I’ve yet to see the DOUBT thing. Otherwise I can see EVERYTHING.EVENTUALLY. It’s just that often they don’t work SMOOTHLY.

I’m talking about extremely choppy. Stopping and starting. Beginning, going OK and then just quitting completely. Or quitting and returning you to the start point of the trailer. It’s not a geographic thing. This much I’m aware of.

Usually what I do is give trailers a look see when I find that you’ve posted something here. If it doesn’t work to my satisfaction, then I generally high tail it over to YouTube. Those versions always play easily.

As for the avatar deal, that’s what I suspected all along. I have tried the Gravatar thing way back when - several times - and it wouldn’t work for me.

Again, thanks for coming to my rescue, Craig. I have a weakness for reliable men.

Didn’t mean to blow sky high. I’m in a decent mood. I’ve had a very enjoyable couple of days just playing in the bright sunshine.

    Weekend isn’t over yet…and I’m still young….

  7. with the Apple trailers, I have the best luck with putting them on pause, then waiting for them to load before playing….you can see their progress on the little bar thingy

  8. “I know they’re not just US based ’cause Nick can see them.”

I can also confirm they can be streamed across 6701 air distance miles between LA and Wellington. Anything that can reach both Nick and me should be accessible in most places.
