Trailer #2: Defiance
Here’s the second trailer for Edward Zwick’s Defiance. I’m not a huge Zwick fan (Glory, Blood Diamond) but I have to say this looks like his most promising film for a while. Perhaps it’s the cast including Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell or maybe it’s the WWII milieu.
Defiance will make its world premiere at AFI Fest on November 9 and it will hit theaters on December 12.

I like it much better than the 1st trailer.
It is a better trailer. I know I have a higher Zwick tolerance than most of you, but like I felt about his other films going in, I’m only mildly curious about this one. No grandiose hopes pinned on it for me. It’s all in the expectations, ya know.
But after a solid run of Epic Action Message movies, though, I think it’s high time for Zwick to direct a zany sex farce or pothead comedy or something, don’t you?
Zwick doesn’t give me a rash or anything, but this one feels like a potential improvement. Still, it’s not too high on my list of things to check out.
Hey, where’s our Friday Filler? I’m running on empty here! : )
I’m not a big fan of Zwick by any means and I have no plans to see this, but it’s a better trailer than the previous one I’ve seen about five times now.
Well anybody who saw that I featured “The Siege” as an underrated movie and “one of the most important movies of the last decade” a few weeks ago will understand why I give Zwick the benefit of the doubt. This one has looked mostly interesting to me since I saw the first 5 secs or so of the trailer a few months ago. Was this release delayed?
I don’t think so, but I could be wrong.
Zwick gets the benefit of a doubt because his heat is at least in the right place…his last couple of films didn’t do much for me though
