Blonde on Bond

The ’60s are dead. Long live the ’60s.

Continuing today with the informal and random James Bondathon now happening on an Internet near you, Miranda Wilding joins the chorus of boos for Quantum of Solace. Interestingly, her likes and dislikes are about the same as mine, but to different degrees. The end result is that I liked the movie a bit better.

After the Indy IV fiasco, I’m beginning to think I’m more tolerant of off entries in beloved franchises. I didn’t actively hate the Star Wars prequels until it was clear after the third one that it wasn’t going to amount to anything and that Lucas was going to blow the most important moment in the entire series…but that’s another story.

Finally, Ms. Wilding looks back at the 1967 version of Casino Royale. It pulled an Austin Powers before Mike Meyers was out of diapers, but he’d swipe the song Look of Love for his little spy spoof nearly 4 decades later. You can’t beat the Herb Alpert soundtrack though.

Remember: There are no rules to this thing, it’s simply a casual gathering of friends. If you’d like me to link to your current Bond-related blog postings, email me.
