  1. Did you watch the trailer Craig? I figured you’d have made a comment about it if you did. I’m avoiding trailers of any kind, except in the theater, where I can’t avoid them.

  2. I watched just enough of it to grab a decent looking screencap for the post. I have to say I wasn’t really too enthusiastic about this one…I liked Chicago, didn’t love it. Never saw the stage version of Nine…but Daniel Day-Lewis in the trailer really got me going. Have him and Streep ever been on screen together? I think I’d explode.

  3. I’m actually not crazy about movie musicals (and I wasn’t crazy about Chicago, either), but this cast has made me excited about this film since the very beginning. The trailer is interesting. It’s not a great trailer, but I still have high hopes for the film.

  4. The cast was my original hook too, but I was still lukewarm until actually seeing DDL and Cruz and Cotillard.

  5. No, DDL and MERYL have never shared a screen, Craig. That would definitely be seared into my memory had it happened.

I actually wrote up a comment on this this morning…and the server booted it out.

    So…

I adored CHICAGO. It’s my favourite film musical. I also think ROB MARSHALL is amazing.

This looks like the event of the season. Whether or not it will be is anyone’s guess.

I think a lot of people were waiting with bated breath to see if DDL was going to sing in these few precious moments. I think there are tons of cinematically inclined individuals just waiting to see how his performance is and what he’s going to do with the part. He’s brilliant. But this is a real departure for him.

That song (BE ITALIAN) Is catchy as hell. Once you’ve heard it, you can’t forget it.

It was an absolute joy to see my beloved JUDI DENCH again. She’s cute as hell. Plus NICOLE, MARION and SOPHIA looked absolutely breathtaking.

It may very well turn out to be a mess. But it’ll be a exquisitely sexy fascinating one. For sure.

    I can’t wait…

  6. This sounds like your movie of the year Miranda. I hope it doesn’t disappoint.

  7. I’d love to believe that, Craig.

That style (overtly sexy, strong women, with a to die for male lead) IS right up my alley.

You are absolutely right about that…

You never know until the lights go down…and you could say that about a lot of things.

    Here’s to hoping…
