Wasikowska Watch: The Kids Are All Right

Mia Wasikowska in In Treatment
The suddenly everywhere-you-look Mia Wasikowska (Defiance, That Evening Sun, Amelia, Alice In Wonderland, HBO’s In Treatment) has been cast as doomed Who drummer Keith Moon in…wait, no. That’s not it.
Mia Wasikowska and Josh Hutcherson (Bridge to Terabithia) have been cast as two siblings who go off to find the sperm donor for their same-sex parents played by Julianne Moore and Annette Bening. They come back with Mark Ruffalo who turns the family upside down.
Director Lisa Cholodenko (Laurel Canyon) co-wrote along with Stuart Blumberg (The Girl Next Door).
Remember 8 months ago when we’d never even heard of Mia Wasikowka? I’m not sure about this one, but I’ll follow Mark Ruffalo anywhere.

As many will recall Lisa Cholodenko wrote and directed HIGH ART, which remains to this day as one of the most impressive gay/lesbian themed films of them all. It’s certainly in a league with BEAUTIFUL THING and a few others. I was far less impressed with LAUREL CANYON, but let’s see what we get here.
I know High Art is more well regarded, but I assumed Laurel Canyon would be more familiar to most audiences so that’s why I gave that credit.
