Here’s the poster for the highly anticipated Sundance hit An Education directed by Lone Scherfig (Italian for Beginners) from a screenplay by Nick Hornby (High Fidelity). Carey Mulligan who has been getting a measure of Oscar buzz stars as Jenny, a 16-year-old schoolgirl approaching womanhood while her early 1960s Britain was on the cusp of great social change.
The film won the audience award and a cinematography award at Sundance.
Peter Sarsgaard, Alfred Molina, Rosamund Pike, Dominic Cooper, Olivia Williams and Emma Thompson also star.
An Education is set for limited release on October 9, 2009.

You had me at Peter Sarsgaard. Yum.
You had ME at Rosamund Pike. And Sarsgaard’s not so bad, either.
yeah, theentire cast here looks most promising. This is the first I’ve heard about this film in any forum.
Peter Sarsgaard is one of those guys who ought to be a bigger star than he is.
Keep your eyes open for this one on the Oscar sites Sam, at least in terms of acting nominations. It’s early yet, but the buzz has been building.
