Shmavatar Day

Avatar

For those of you who just can’t wait until December 18th to lay your eyes James Cameron’s Avatar and are willing to wait in line for 15 minutes of precious, eye cancer-curing footage on August 21st, free tickets will be available online at noon PST Monday, August 17th at www.avatarmovie.com. There’s little information on the website as of this writing, but supposedly information for individual theaters showing the trailer will be available. Each person will be allowed two tickets maximum.

In most locations, the trailer will be run twice between 6 and 7pm.

The 100 IMAX screens scheduled to show the footage will include 30 overseas.

Specially designed Yoda-adorned Depends adult diapers will be provided free at the concession stand with any large popcorn purchase and Wetnaps will be available for free in the lobby after the show.

  1. Craig, I think you should don your piss pouch and expose yourself to the cinematic diuretic on behalf of those of us unable to make judgment day, er Avatar Day screenings.

I’m way more excited about District 9, which opened here today, than I am about Avatar.

  2. I actually might, just to see what all the fuss is about. Plus, despite my cynicism, I hope Avatar really does make me crap my pants.

I’m looking forward to District 9 too. Do movies in New Zealand open on Wed or Thu or have you been hanging out with The Time Traveler’s Wife again?

  3. Ha! They sometimes open on Thursdays. Which because I’m from the near future relative to the perpetually lagging behind US is here and now in NZ.
