The Downfall of Avatar Day
I promised myself I wasn’t going to watch another one of these goddamn viral Downfall mashups, but people kept telling me this one was awesome. Maybe it’s because I haven’t seen one for months or maybe the writing is just especially good, but this one made me laugh. A lot.
Rather than repost all the choice lines, I’ll let you discover them for yourself.
It’s funny. Prior to Comic-Con, James Cameron’s Avatar was the must-see sci-fi flick of the year, but it didn’t emerge from San Diego with the most buzz. Then last week the trailer flopped in a major way and the 16 minute free preview failed to generate the kind of excitement Fox was clearly hoping for. Now, it’s actually become hip to mock it. That can’t be good news to Cameron or the studio.
It’s way to early to tell if the movie itself is any good or not, but Fox has a lot of work ahead of it reconvincing the core audience that this is THE movie everyone is waiting for, not to mention convincing the other 80% of the population who still haven’t even heard of the movie yet.

Caught this one yesterday and laughed as well. The first minute was brilliant.
Heh heh, that had a couple moments, but we need to lock this Downfall footage in a vault now and forbid it’s being mashed up ever again under penalty of death.
Agreed Joel, that’s why I resisted watching it at first, but then after awhile it felt like an old friend.
LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!! And I though the DOWNFALL mesh up with the New York Giants was funny!? This trumps them all!
