Russell Crowe on ‘Robin Hood’
Except in jest, I haven’t mentioned Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood since February when Cate Blanchett was lined up for the Maid Marian role (remember the semi-regular Production Notes column? Anyone miss it? No?).
Anyway, star Russell Crowe recently spoke to some douchey Australian morning news/chat tool and for some reason the interview struck me as interesting.
There is behind-the-scenes footage aplenty and Crowe talks bluntly about the reasons for making another movie about Sherwood Forest, Sienna Miller not getting cast as Maid Marian and filming some of the epic action sequences. You also get what I think is the first look at Cate Blanchett in costume.
I have to admit, my interest in this thing is starting to pick up a little bit.
I first became aware of the video at FirstShowing and was inspired to find an embeddable version at on YouTube. Alex Billington has also assembled an assortment of production photos if you’re interested in that kind of thing.
Check out part 2 after the jump.
