Not a new Trailer: Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland

UPDATE 10:30 am: Bah. this is crap. I compared the two versions which I should’ve done in the first place. This one just starts at the end of the other one and has one tiny sliver inserted in the middle. There’s nothing new to see here. In fact, because it gets chopped off, there’s less. Move along. Carry on about your business.

If you must, read on with the original post:

I’m not sure if this counts as a trailer exactly, but it played during Spike TV’s 2009 Scream Awards and we’re going trailer crazy around here so let’s juts do it and get it over with. I’m not sure if or how it’s different than the original teaser we’ve already seen…and I’m entering blackout mode so I don’t want to rewatch it to find out.

Tim Burton presents a film inspired by Lewis Carroll’s classic starring Mia Wasikowska as a 19-year-old Alice, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen.

Alice in Wonderland is one of the big films we’re most looking forward to around the LiC head offices. It opens March 5.

Stream the trailer thing after the jump.

  1. Not only did this trailer air at the Scream Awards the movie was given an award – most anticipated movie of the year. It’s great when movies can win awards before they’re even released. We’ve entered a whole new realm.

  2. That’s what you get from half-assed awards shows like that.

They’re all just a part of the hype machine, bought and paid for by the studios.

How much do you want to bet Disney bought that award?

  3. LOL. Perhaps that explains the Keith Richards connection. POTC 3. As you may know already he was given the Rock Immortal Award at the Scream Awards. What does that have to do with a horror/sci fi/fantasy themed awards show? I don’t know. But it got him to attend as well as his biggest stan to present it.

Don’t get me wrong. I love Keith Richards and the Stones as much as anyone. It’s just so random.
