"The Cove" asks the viewer to make the decision to help the noble cause of saving people in Japan from eating meat containing toxic levels of mercury as well as stopping the seasonal slaughter of dolphins in the cove. At the end of the film it asks for your support to take part in stopping the slaughter. The website for the film also has a link so the viewer or a concerned citizen can in fact save dolphins by clicking http://www.takepart.com/thecove/.

The slaughters were scheduled to start beginning in September and due to this documentary and the help of the viewers and concerned citizens the slaughters were postponed.

There are many informative documentaries this year with great messages but it is a shame that "No Impact Man" did not receive a single nomination.
