It's a nice poster but it doesn't leap out at me.

Bridges is a very good and usually underrated actor, but at this point it seems like quite a climb to an Oscar nomination. People may be reminded of comparisons to Robert Duvall/Tender Mercies. I'd think that Crazy Heart needs to measure up as a film if Bridges is going to have a shot.

Craig, I'm thrilled with this turn of events.

Frankly, barring an out of left field miracle, most of the men I'm rooting for in the lead category will be nowhere near an Oscar nomination next January. Either their buzz has died or they never had any in the first place.

So who's left?

George has all ready won. So has Morgan. (Yeah, I know they weren't lead. But they're still Academy Awards nonetheless.) DDL has won TWICE. Matt has as well. Even though it wasn't for acting. Colin Firth looks like an intriguing challenger. But I certainly wouldn't call his victory inevitable.

But JEFF BRIDGES...

I've worshipped him since I was a kid. He's a fabulous actor (and multiple nominee) that is way overdue for serious recognition.

I would be ECSTATIC if he were to win next year.

I genuinely hope that CH plays my home town. I'll definitely be on the lookout for it.

Thanks for this, Craig.

That style is still dominant today if you look at any number of films with weird oversized body parts. But this one doesn't stand out to me.
