Nine

Journo types finally recently got a look at Rob Marshall’s Nine, but they’re not allowed to so much as Tweet what they saw. The best we can do for now is enjoy this new(?) trailer on Yahoo featuring Kate Hudson singing Cinema Italiano.

I don’t know jack about the musical other than that it’s based on Fellini’s 8 1/2, but I hate this song. I think it’s the first thing I’ve seen or heard about Nine that I haven’t liked.

Check out the trailer after the jump.

Nine starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Kate Hudson, Stacy Ferguson and Sophia Loren opens in New York and Los Angeles on 12/18 with a national roll out on 12/25.

  1. I dunno. Not crazy about it but I don’t hate it. I’m not familiar with the musical, either.

What bothers me more than the song itself is the staging. Rob Marshall’s theater sets, staging and choreography are awfully reminiscent of Chicago>/i>. Would have liked to see this just be more cinematic, rather than Broadway, filmed.

Truly excited about seeing DDL in this role though!
