The Sun quotes one Martin Scorsese as being a fan of Rupert Grint of Harry Potter fame: “I would be very interested in working with him. I would have no issues in casting him as a gangster. He is a very talented young man.”

This is meaninglessness incarnate, but let me be the first to start the fake rumor: Scorsese directing Rolling Stones bio with Rupert Grint as Mick Jagger.

Right? Am I the only one who thinks the kid could pull it off with some hair dye?

[Update 7/6: Scorsese denies having so much as seen a Harry Potter movie. Turns out you shouldn’t even use a UK tabloid report as a springboard for comedy material.]

  1. LOL, I’ll give it to you. I almost fell off my chair reading your headline~

  2. I wasn’t trying to trick anyone, I swear!

  3. There. I changed it.

  4. What was the original headline?

  5. I just added “Idle Speculation” so there was no mistaking that’s what it was meant to be.

  6. He definitely has the right look. He’d really only need a dye job.

  7. Rupert may need some prosthetics help to simulate the famous lips.

  8. Idle speculation of this sort beats the hell out of seeing an actual M. Night Shyamalan movie. Though in fairness it did inspire Roger Ebert’s best pan in an quite a long time.

  9. I like it. Make it so.

  10. Boy, Ebert was on fire.
