None of it has been earth shattering, but there’s been a lot of news in the last couple of days and I quickly fell behind. Here’s a survey of the most interesting of it with links to the full story.

I guess that’s better than Princess Di playing Naomi Watts. Deadline

You probably don’t know who the hell Henry Cavill is, but he’s the new Superman so get ready to remember his name… unless of course Man of Steel turns out like Superman Returns in which case you can go ahead and forget about him right now just like you did with Brandon Routh. Variety – firewall

iDouche is writing a movie to star Evan Rachel Wood and Peter Dinklage
Justin Long, sadly best known for those supremely smug and irritating Apple commercials, is writing and producing a film called A Case of You. The story follows a writer who creates a phony online profile to impress a girl only to have her fall for it. How droll. Variety

Gleeson reteams with John Michael McDonagh
LiC favorite Brendan Gleeson , the star of John Michael McDonagh’s directorial debut The Guard, is embarking on another project with the writer/director and he’ll be joined by Isaach de Bankole (Ghost Dog), Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids) and others. From McDonagh’s own script, the film is called Calvary and it’s a black comedy/drama about a priest (presumably Gleeson) “tormented by his community.” THR
