I’ve tried to be optimistic about this thing… Ok, no. That’s a total lie. I’ve pretty much been skeptical from the word go and I haven’t seen or heard anything to convince me I’m wrong up to and including the newest trailer.

Men in Black III opens May 25th.

  1. I find it mildly amusing that 44 year old Josh Brolin is playing the “young version” of Tommy Lee Jones’ character here, despite the fact that TLJ first played him at the age of 51. Yeah, they have some fun with this at the end of the trailer (and it’s the only fun to be had), but it just underscores how strained this whole thing is.

  2. I think it’ll be better than MIB2 (doesn’t require much to surpass it), but not all the trailers equate good of bad films. Making a trailer is another field.

  3. It amuses me that Web Land is reacting so negatively to this. Based on this trailer, it looks no better or worse than most summer product, though I’m pretty sure I haven’t enjoyed a Barry Sonnenfield movie since the original Men In Black.

  4. When was the last time you enjoyed a Will Smith movie?

  5. Brolin looks pretty great but it’s amazing that in the 21st century, the driving scenes look as fake as the 60’s blue screen.

    I Am Legend in 2007! :)

    P.S. I don’t care. I loved the film!
