  1. His irresistible portrayal as the teacher will always hold a soft spot, even for the snobs, methinks. My kids for one are very big fans.

  2. “The Karate Kid” has one of the great audience-pleasing endings in movies. That freeze frame on Miyagi’s face as Daniel realizes the potential he knows he always had is very moving.

  3. Aw, Pat Morita. I really loved him.
