Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) Directed by Leonard Nimoy.
Jane Wyatt as Amanda and Leonard Nimoy as Spock

Amanda: Spock, does the good of the many out weigh the good of the one?
Spock: I would accept that as an axiom.
Amanda: Then you stand here alive because of a mistake made by your flawed, feeling, human friends. They have sacrificed their futures because they believed that the good of the one, you, was more important to them.
Spock: Humans make illogical decisions.
Amanda: They do, indeed.

  1. Well, Jane Wyatt’s most famous film role was probably in Capra’s 1937 LOST HORIZON, but you are absolutely right to feature her here in the role that for so many will be the one she is most remembered by, and this includes Margaret Anderson in the television comedy “Father Knows Best.” I grew up a trekkie and well remember this fourth film, and the original series episode where Wyatt first appeared as Amanda, the excellent “Journey to Babel.”

Wyatt enjoyed a long life, living till age 96.
