Bunker Hill Bunny (1950) Directed by Isadore Friz Freleng.
Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam voiced by Mel Blanc.

Yosemite Sam: Ahoy there! Enemy ahoy!
Bugs Bunny: What’s up, Doc?
Yosemite Sam: A rabbit? Ah ha ha haa! A rabbit!
Bugs Bunny: Yeah, eh heh heh heh! A rabbit. And just who do you think you are?
Yosemite Sam: Who am I? I’m Sam Von Schmamm the Hessian, that’s who I am, and I’ve got you outnumbered one to one! Surrender or die, rabbit!

  1. It could well be argued hat this is a one-note cartoon, but it still holds up wonderfully, and is a treat especially for Yosemite Sam and Mel Blanc fans. Notable too for Freeleng’s direction and for the venerated ‘Merry Melodies’ label.

  2. Yeah i suppose it’s not one for the top ten lists but i love it anyway. Yosemite is my favorite character who (as far as i recall) was never the star of his own shorts. Is that right or am i forgetting some?.
