The Hunt for Red October (1990) directed by John McTiernan.
Jeffrey Jones as Skip Tyler.

Skip: When I was 12, I helped my daddy build a bomb shelter in our basement because some fool parked a dozen warheads 90 miles off the coast of Florida. This thing could park a couple of hundred warheads off Washington and New York and no one would know anything about it until it was all over.

  1. Of course it’s hard to argue that as far as these kind of films go this is a cracker jack thriller by director who has a few other impressive credits to his name as well.

  2. This one and Die Hard are my two favorite John McTiernan movies. I know Predator has a large fanbase (also recently MQotD’d, but that one is saddled with Arnold who, I have to admit, bugs the shit out of me in almost everything he’s in except Terminator and maybe Total Recall
