Anthony: You told your friend Bernice I’m some kind of a jet pilot?
Grace: What was I supposed to say? They stuck you in an insane asylum?
Anthony: It wasn’t an insane asylum, Grace. I explained to you back then that it was for exhaustion.
Grace: Exhaustion?
Anthony: Yes, exhaustion.
Grace: You haven’t worked a day in your life. How could you be exhausted?

  1. Not the biggest fan of this very popular Wes Anderson film, but I don’t dislike it either. It certainly has it’s moments and the Criterion blu-ray is one of the company’s most desired titles.

  2. Haha, I love the part right after this where Anthony is so shocked at how “cynical” his sister has become. Anthony seems like the only Wes Anderson protagonist to have hit rock bottom and seen the light before his particular film begins. I wonder if his lack of a typical Anderson arc is what defeats the film’s success with audiences?
