Review: Shutter Island (2010) *** 1/2

An entertaining and refreshingly adult thriller that mostly overcomes the weaknesses of its source material with plenty of style and intelligence and a raft of excellent performances.

Trailer confirms it’s safe to continue ignoring Prince of Persia

The first trailer for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time looks about as bad as I expected

Trailer 3: Shutter Island

Want to see another Shutter Island trailer? I haven’t watched the other ones and I’m not watching this one, but don’t let that stop you. I’m told  the second trailer was the same as the first. Had I watched either one, I might’ve known this.

Trouble the Water. Coming from the producers of Fahrenheit 9/11 and Bowling for [...]

The Watercooler: 8/11/08

Penélope Cruz and Ben Kingsley in Elegy
Hey it’s Monday and time for another Watercooler. Before we get to the movies, I wanted to point out that I’m experimenting with a Sunday slot for the Movies You May Have Missed column for Netflix-centric reasons explained in the column itself. Check it out below if you’d like.
Meanwhile, [...]

Weekend Forecast: 8/8/08
