How far will an overprotective mother go to prove the innocence of her son? That’s the simple conceit of the latest from Bong Joon-ho (The Host) who plumbs the dark depths of motherhood in this terrific psychological mystery thriller.

Apple has the US trailer for Bong Joon-ho’s terrific Mother.
Last week when I ran the US poster I gave the release date as March 19, 2010, but it’s been moved up a week to March 12.

The first selections for the 23rd AFI Fest in Los Angeles were announced today with a number of films that have been getting lots of buzz at recent festivals.

AFI announced yesterday that two highly anticipated films, Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler and Steven Soderbergh’s Che will be making their West Coast premieres at the 2008 AFI Fest.
