Michael Fleming is reporting over at Variety’s BFDealMemo that Jeff Bridges is “in discussions with Paramount” to take the role of Rooster Cogburn in Joel and Ethan Coen’s planned adaptation of Charles Portis’ novel True Grit, the same role that won John Wayne the Oscar in 1969.
