When we ran the international trailer for The Young Victoria way back in January it looked like another stuffy period biography made interesting only by a cast including Emily Blunt, Jim Broadbent, Paul Bettany and Miranda Richardson.

French-Canadian Jean-Marc Vallee’s The Young Victoria starring Emily Blunt will be the closing night film of TIFF 09. The period biography about the early years of the British Queen also stars Rupert Friend, Paul Bettany, Miranda Richardson, and Jim Broadbent.
