The American Society of Cinematographers has chosen Christian Berger’s work on Michael Haneke’s The White Ribbon for outstanding cinematography in 2009.
The final nails in the Avatar Oscar coffin are now being polished.

Though Jacques Audiard’s A Prophet (Un Prophete) led all films with six European Film Award nominations, Michael Haneke’s The White Ribbon (Das Weisse Band) prevailed in the top prizes just as it did at Cannes earlier this year.
