Muriel picks the best picture of 2009 tomorrow, but over the last couple of days she’s racked up three picks in major categories that definitely go against conventional wisdom and are sure to bunch up more than a few pairs of undies. Though none of them received my first place vote, I like all the [...]

Isaach de Bankolé in The Limits of Control
Those who like their movies with a strong dose of plot are sure to be irritated by the latest film from Jim Jarmusch. Carefully structured but willfully lacking anything beyond the slimmest of narratives, The Limits of Control is more concerned with setting a mood and ruminating on [...]

Open wide and say “Burn!”
Burn After Reading. Anyone who has read LiC for any length of time knows I’m completely in the tank for the Coen Brothers. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that I loved this movie. It’s fair to [...]

George Clooney and Frances McDormand in Burn After Reading
You can almost hear the air being let out of the summer movie season. Overall it was a pretty decent four months of movies, but I for one am glad to see it coming to an end. Now it’s time to look forward to the last third [...]

JoBlo has the international one-sheet for Joel and Ethan Coen’s Burn After Reading. It’s obviously very similar to the US poster with the addition of the figures at the bottom.
I like it, but then it’s widely known I’m in the tank for all things Coen.
